This morning (August 14), Wang Yi met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn in Anning, Yunnan, who came to China to attend the 10th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

Wang Yi stated that China and Cambodia are ironclad friends and an all-weather community with a shared future, always supporting and helping each other. In April of this year, President Xi Jinping paid a historic state visit to Cambodia. The leaders of the two countries jointly led the upgrading of China-Cambodia relations and charted a blueprint for building an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era. China supports Cambodia in maintaining political stability, promoting economic development, and improving people's livelihoods. China is willing to work with Cambodia to leverage the role of the China-Cambodia Intergovernmental Coordination Committee, enrich the "Diamond Hexagram" cooperation framework, and promote more tangible results in the "Industrial Development Corridor" and the "Fish and Rice Corridor," so that China-Cambodia cooperation can bring greater benefits to the Cambodian people and contribute to regional development and prosperity.

Wang Yi said that the world today is in turmoil and in need of peace and tranquility. It is of great significance that the Lancang-Mekong countries held a foreign ministers' meeting in China's peace to discuss development plans, voice peace and reach a consensus on peace.

Prak Sokhonn stated that Cambodia and China are an all-weather community with a shared future and maintain close high-level exchanges. President Xi Jinping's visit to Cambodia was a complete success and a milestone, elevating bilateral relations to a new level. Cambodia highly values its relations with China and expresses gratitude for China's selfless support and assistance. Cambodia looks forward to elevating cooperation and achieving more fruitful results. China plays a constructive role in international and regional affairs and is a symbol of peace and development. The Belt and Road Initiative and the three major global initiatives have achieved remarkable results, both in concept and in action. "An Ning" symbolizes peace and tranquility. Cambodia is willing to fully support and participate, and hopes that this Foreign Ministers' Meeting will accelerate the development of Lancang-Mekong cooperation and promote regional prosperity and stability.
