The multilingual service is described as a first for Australia’s burgeoning sports betting industry and will provide the ability to display all event information, odds and data in the user’s selected language.
TAB general manager of trading, Dave Beirne, said the upgrade would make the app easier to use for customers.
"We have a growing customer base whose first language is not English, and this upgrade will make betting even easier for them," he said.
"Simplifying the product experience is a key part of our digital transformation, and this is another important step in that journey."
“We know that gaming is popular in Asia, and building a multilingual platform that breaks down language barriers will undoubtedly appeal to customers who speak English as an additional language. We will definitely consider expanding to more languages in the future.”
Michael Ristuccia, General Manager of Technology at TAB, noted that this upgrade demonstrates the technological transformation and capabilities of the next-generation TAB App. He explained, "This was a cross-functional project, driven by the technical, trading, and product teams. We used a modern mobile software suite to build context-aware components, enabling the app to seamlessly adapt to various languages."
“Translations are certified by official translators and contextually optimized using our own AI, ensuring an accurate and contextually appropriate language experience.”
“Now that we’ve proven that this technology works well, we’re looking to expand it to other areas of customer service in the future.”
