According to reports, twenty farmers have submitted statements and documentation claiming that parcels of land were transferred to a private company linked to former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque without the required government clearances. The NBI has expressed serious concerns over the legality of these transactions, indicating that documents may have been falsified to facilitate the transfer for POGO-related activities.
Authorities are now building a comprehensive case to identify and hold the responsible parties criminally liable. This investigation follows a late November 2024 raid on the Central One facility in Bataan's freeport zone, an operation the operator strongly refuted by denying offshore status. POGOs have been officially banned across the Philippines by presidential decree, with enforced legislation now in place to prevent any resurgence of the offshore gaming sector.
