The United Arab Emirates is continuing to develop its regulated commercial Gaming ecosystem, with the country’s supplier licensing framework expanding alongside the wider market.

Euro Games Technology (EGT) has become the latest supplier to receive a Gaming Related Vendor License from the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA).

The approval authorizes the company to supply its portfolio of land-based Gaming solutions to licensed operators in the UAE.

Supplier licensing ecosystem continues to grow

Rather than representing an isolated licensing development, the latest approval reflects the gradual expansion of the UAE’s regulated supplier ecosystem.

According to industry reports, the UAE now has 24 licensed Gaming-related vendors, with the list including international suppliers such as Aristocrat, IGT, Light & Wonder, Novomatic, Konami and Scientific Games.

As the UAE establishes its commercial Gaming framework, suppliers seeking to participate in the market are required to operate within the GCGRA’s licensing and compliance structure.

The regulator’s framework also extends beyond licensing itself. GCGRA states that Gaming operators and Gaming-related vendors conducting business in the UAE are required to obtain various certifications from approved independent third parties as part of compliance with its Executive Regulations.

UAE continues building a regulated Gaming market

The supplier licensing expansion comes as the UAE continues to establish the regulatory infrastructure for its emerging commercial Gaming sector.

In August, the GCGRA also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Abu Dhabi Global Market’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), creating a formal framework for regulatory cooperation, information sharing and coordinated supervision.

Together, these developments indicate that the UAE is building its Gaming market through a combination of operator licensing, supplier authorization, certification requirements and cooperation between regulatory authorities.

As more international suppliers enter the regulated framework, compliance, product certification and regulatory approval are expected to remain important requirements for companies seeking opportunities in the UAE’s developing Gaming market.
