
Today, Wednesday, September 9, the second edition of GAT Expo Puerto Rico takes place at The Condado Plaza Hotel. Authorities, business leaders, operators, manufacturers, suppliers, and experts from the gaming and betting industry will come together for an intensive day of business, commercial exhibition, networking, knowledge sharing, and industry updates.
San Juan, Puerto Rico, September 9, 2026. The day has arrived. GAT Expo Puerto Rico 2026 opens its doors today at the Grand Ballroom of The Condado Plaza Hotel, with an agenda bringing together key stakeholders from the gaming industry in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and the Americas.
Organized by GAT Events, this second edition in San Juan brings together, in a single day, a commercial exhibition, conferences, panels, business engagement, and networking, with the participation of authorities, regulators, operators, and national and international companies.
The morning begins with participant registration and accreditation. At 10:00 a.m., the official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place, marking the opening of the commercial exhibition. The GAT Talks academic program will follow, while the exhibition will remain open until 7:00 p.m., when the closing cocktail sponsored by Hipódromo Camarero will bring GAT Expo Puerto Rico 2026 to a close.
Opening of the Commercial Exhibition
The exhibition will be officially opened by the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and its Executive Director, Attorney Juan Carlos Santaella, accompanied by José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Events, as well as authorities and representatives of participating companies.
The exhibition will feature Novomatic, Fortune Group Games, EAS Systems, EEZE, Counting Equipment & Supplies, Bad Dog Games, TVC Gaming, Bloomcrest, Caribbean Gaming Technologies, Royal Gaming Logistics, Amusnet Interactive, Hipódromo Camarero, Prometeo, Oklahoma, Caribe Gaming, Gem Solutions, and Caribbean Gaming Distributors.
Among the highlights of the exhibition are cabinets and equipment from renowned global brands such as IGT, Win Systems, and EGT, expanding the range of solutions and technologies available for visitors to discover at the Royal Gaming Logistics exhibition area on Level 2 of The Condado Plaza Hotel.
Throughout the day, operators, business leaders, and industry professionals will have the opportunity to explore products, technologies, services, and solutions from leading suppliers, specifically designed to meet the needs of the different segments of Puerto Rico’s legal gaming industry. The commercial showcase will also provide an ideal setting for meetings, exploring new opportunities, and developing strategic partnerships that can strengthen business ties between the Puerto Rican and international markets.
GAT Talks: Regulation, Market, and Innovation
Starting at 11:00 a.m., the GAT Talks academic program will begin with the official opening and welcoming remarks, followed by a diverse agenda of keynote presentations and panels featuring industry leaders and experts who will provide a comprehensive analysis of the current state of Puerto Rico’s gaming industry and share their perspectives on its future.
At 11:10 a.m., Attorney Juan Carlos Santaella, the sector’s highest-ranking government authority, will deliver the conference “Puerto Rico: From Today’s Market to Tomorrow’s Industry,” addressing the current landscape and future outlook for the industry’s evolution on the island, including the potential medium- and long-term expansion of its existing gaming segments.
The program continues at 11:40 a.m. with Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) and the presentation “Puerto Rico: Leading the Evolution of Regulated Gaming in the Caribbean,” delivered by Attorney José Carlos Figueroa, Regional Manager for the Caribbean, representing this internationally recognized gaming testing and certification laboratory.
One of the most anticipated sessions of GAT Talks will be the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission panel, “The Next Move: Innovation, Regulation, and the Future in Puerto Rico,” taking place from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. The discussion will be moderated by Attorney Lorraine Irizarry, Director of the Games of Chance Bureau of the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, and will feature Julio Rivera, Director of the Sports Betting Bureau of the Gaming Commission; Javier Soto, General Manager of Cage Puerto Rico, Inc., a sports betting operator; and Liza García, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce.
The panel will bring together public- and private-sector perspectives on innovation, regulation, and industry development, as well as the challenges and alternatives that can support the continued growth of the Puerto Rican market.
From 12:45 to 2:00 p.m., the program will break for a coffee break, before resuming in the afternoon with additional conferences and specialized content.
At 2:00 p.m., attendees will hear from Attorney Jaime Rivera, former Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and partner at Saiber LLC, who will present “Multiple Laws, One Industry: The Legal Framework for Gaming in Puerto Rico.”
Following this session, Amusnet will participate in GAT Talks with the Master Class “Slot Product Analysis,” led by Daniel Arias, Amusnet Director for the Caribbean, Colombia, and Central America. The session will provide a specialized perspective on the management and transformation of slot products, adding technical and strategic content to an agenda designed to provide useful tools for operators and industry professionals.
At 3:00 p.m., José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Events, will moderate the panel “The DNA of Gaming in Puerto Rico: A Retrospective and a Sustainable Future,” a conversation that will trace the development of the main verticals of Puerto Rico’s gaming industry while focusing on sustainability and the healthy coexistence of its different segments. Panelists will include María Cristina Mari García, Vice President of Hipódromo Camarero; Lorna Huertas, advisor to the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and former Assistant Secretary of the Lottery Bureau; Jaime Alex Irizarry, Director of Operations at Royal Gaming Logistics; Joe Fernández, President and Co-Founder of Ballers Sportsbook; and Eric Rodríguez, Director of Foxwoods Casino.The panel will examine the evolution and transformation of lotteries, horse racing, route gaming machines, casinos, and sports betting, before opening the discussion to integration, innovation, and opportunities for collaboration among the different segments.
